It seems I'm the first to vote, yay.

Really, if this were all that people don't know/understand, it would be easy. Unfortunately, most on this site these days don't understand the whole concept of bdsm. It's become a messy sex site for frustrated voyeurs and posers.

Keep up your pedantry, I for one, enjoy it.

One should never try to dominate a dominant.

Tee

I am proud to say I do know the difference

Such things are rampant all over the internet. your/you're, and their/there/they're are the most common. i can not tell you how often i have read (not red) something and had to go back and re-read it after i realized that some illiterate who believes "spell-check" fixes everything has chosen the wrong word.

My "gurl name" is Kate Coxuker. It is who i am and what i do.

I'm not sure what's misused more, this or "your" versus "you're". It's a close race.

"There" verusu "their" isn't too far behind either.

@alwaysassertive: importanter??

"Its" and "it's" are common mistakes. If "it is" doesn't sound right, then you should probably use "its".

"They're putting their books on the table over there."

Just my two cents!

Every time I see someone i might be interested in the first thing I do is read the profile. The first use of those terms incorrectly causes me to check "no" mentally and move right on.

Like Jenny I'm pleased to say I know the difference.
I think tastetester61 says it well when he says,
"One should never try to dominate a dominant."

I try to get my there & their the right way round & other such things, but I can't claim
to never having made a mistake. We can all make mistakes from time to time but as
drmgirl says it can be off putting if people have no idea about these things.

As an engineer I have to agree with alwaysassertive when he says,
"engineering is more importanter" - lol

is it possible that people have strengths and weaknesses...

maybe grammar doesn't come easy to some, but perhaps they might actually know something that you don't and you could be missing out on an opportunity to learn something new?

The difference between Dominant and Dominate I do understand but I will admit I'm a terrible typist and should read what I send before sending. All profiles that start off with Am look for master and 1 pic wonders are just fakes though.

Oh boy, here's another one I found: Collared versus collard. One is a verb, the other is a noun, and the two have nothing in common!

If you switch a switch with a switch, are they still a switch?
