Portuguese lessons, It makes me really happy, to know, that i still remember soo many Portuguêse words. i am surprised by that. First learning the words, on this online duo lingo, or something like that, was boring, then making sentence was boring too... The constant repetition of those words... pffff... Then i found the stories, you can listen to, see the Portuguêse sentences and i can pretty much follow what is talked about... i am amazed! About myself! hahah. It is feels really very good, to know i learned soo many words, and sentences while i worked and lived there. Most of the time, the farmers where from Germany, or England, so i did not really spook a lot of Portuguêse with them. But, apparently, i did talk a lot with "the locals"... I loved to go the supermarcado, markets and little shops too, and talk with the people there, it was always fun, when i made the worst mistakes, like what little do... because they still are learning their language... It made me feel so rich... to learn and live there... Learning Portuguêse again, makes me feel happy... and some how, light... Oh, and there is some sort of competion, with the other people learning Portuguêse too! I am pretty good, compare with the most of them! I am at numero sete! 7 Daily routine. |

There was a young lady from Fort McGee Who liked to speak in the Portugee. She said "bom Dia" To her friend Maria Who answered "good morning, oh gee,"

I love languages. Probably because we moved so much when I was a child and I learned when my brain was still plastic. Chinese, French, Spanish, Thai - so much has fallen away...but so much remains too. It was fun to hear about your Portuguese . You and chat infrequently through comments, but I always enjoy it.

Working on my Portuguese currently - very much a beginner right now. But you have to start somewhere

My wife and I are also learning Portuguese. We are seriously considering moving to Portugal (having been there twice in the past two years and visiting 8 different cities in the process). We started with Duo Lingo, but quickly realized it was Brazilian Portuguese, NOT the Portugues they speak in Portugal. (Everything spells the same, but the pronunciation can be very different). We now use Memrise instead, and find that it works well.

spankedhusband, Oh, great, i hope you two find some real nice spot to live. Thanks for the tip, i will look into that. ( the best way to learn a language is just go there have a mini dictionaire with you, and make a lot of mistakes. The people appreciate it soo much, that you try, they will forgive you! and laugh about it, with you! ) And help you to say the right words... Is my experience, anyway...

Learning Portuguese will help you a lot if you decide to tackle Spanish and a little with Italian and French.

Gowron, Yes, i know, i did recognise those languages in Portuguêse! even some German..... I like that a lot about learning the language; Portuguêse. There have been so many wars, and conquerors, that is it only logical to find some of those languages in theirs... back..... I traveled & worked through Spain too, so i can recognise some Spanish... Nice, that you visit my blog, thank you
