My opinion - Every time I hear a democrat crow about saving democracy I am reminded that the welfare of the people has long been the alibi of tyrants. Since when is the welfare of the people a bad thing? You mean what Regan said was from a tyrant's point of view? He was worried about the people as a candidate. Of course, when he got into office, he fucked the people (supply-side economics) and gave it all to the rich and corporations. So, yeah, said one thing to get elected and did the exact opposite in office. Exactly what trumpee bear, Ryan, and treasonous Mitch did tb's first term. You expecting something different from these folks? That's way more plausible than some dem wanting to be on MSNBC......
