This post is about spit-roasting. I'm unsure whether it's spelt spitroast or spit roast, so I'm compromising with a hyphen!
Below is a photo of a vase painting attributed to Pedieus Painter, a Greek vase painter. The vase is dated to around 510 BC and is exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. Spit-roasting has a long tradition if the Ancient Greeks were at it!
A spit-roast is specific form of a threesome sexual act. It involves one person, either a man or a woman, usually on all fours (but sometimes lying down). Then one person, invariably a man (though at a push could be a woman wearing a strap-on dildo) stands in front of the person kneeling down. And another person, either a man or a woman wearing a strap-on dildo, approaches the kneeling person from behind. the go-between than performs oral sex on the person standing in front while receiving vaginal or anal sex from behind.
A spit-roast can be FFF, FFM, FMF, FMM, MFF, MFM, MMF or MMM. It took me quite a while to work out all the combinations!

I have been involved in a spit-roast on numerous occasions. I've never been the go-between. and nor would I want to be a go-between even with a woman pegging me from behind. Nearly 50 people outlined their rimming (and rusty trombone) experiences on my FANCY A RIM? blog post poll.
50 isn't a large sample size. Given that the site's members aren't representative of the wider population (though are probably more representative than people first think) and given that the sample is self-selecting (whoever wants to vote can vote), a poll here needs a large number of respondents to be meaningful.
The gold standard of polls is widely regarded as a poll with a large number of respondents randomly sampled in which everyone in the wider population has an equal chance of being selected in the sample (eg every tenth person on an electoral register, every hundredth person on a population census). Such polls are difficult and very expensive to do, and they can't be done here.
Most polls use what's called structured samples, that is samples structured by gender, age, income, geography, sexuality, ethnicity/race or whatever. But these structured polls often get it wrong because the pollster needs to know in advance what is structuring the poll results. In both American and British polls, professional pollsters take into account the shy Republican/Tory effect, that's people in their structured sample not wanting to reveal that they intend to vote Republican or Tory in an election to pollsters. Right-wingers, shy?! Polls, or at least reliable polls, aren't easy to do.
The vast majority of those who responded to the rimming poll had rimmed someone and had been rimmed by someone, with a clear majority of those liking the experience. However, more men than women liked the experience.
Of those who hadn't rimmed or been rimmed, the majority didn't want to rim or be rimmed. Rimming does divide opinion somewhat, I suspect because the 'dirty' anus is involved.
Perhaps the most surprising results of the poll were those for the rusty trombone experience. Rimming, both rimming someone and being rimmed by someone, is more of a popular sexual activity than a rusty trombone, which, to those who can't remember, is essentially a rim with a wank thrown in. I'm at a loss why rimming without a wank is more popular than rimming with a wank, perhaps it's because a rusty trombone involves multi-tasking!
The poll isn't at all representative of either the whole population or even the membership here. The poll is just reflective of those who responded. Because only one trans person and three couples voted, I've avoided making any observations about their responses simply because their very low number of responses make any observations relatively meaningless.
