This post, with poll, is all about watersports in the sexual sense. It's not about swimming, diving, sailing, rowing, jet skiing or water skiing. It's about urolagnia or urophilia, more commonly known as golden-showering or watersports, a practice in which sexual satisfaction is gained from urination, either from urinating or being urinated on.
I have to be careful how I word this blog post. I don't think the P word will get through so I'll use the watersports and golden shower terms instead. I don't want to use the urolagnia or urophilia terms as they seem to be favoured by psychiatrists and other professionals in white coats. This blog post intends to be non-judgemental.
In 2017 one British television channel, Channel 4, conducted a sex survey and found watersports to be the ninth most popular sexual fetish in the country. i would argue, however, that watersports strictly speaking isn't a fetish.
In the second edition of Larry Townsend's book, The Leatherman's Handbook, published in 1983, a yellow handkerchief symbolised that a gay man liked watersports. In his table detailing the handkerchief code amongst gay men, wearing a handkerchief on the left indicated a top and on the right a bottom. I always carry a handkerchief on me and I usually place my handkerchief in my back right pocket of my jeans. I'm now going to have to think about about what signs I'm sending out especially if I was to frequent American gay bars and clubs!
Back to watersports. Chuck Berry was filmed urinating on a woman on a sex video tape and was sued for filming many women urinating in the restroom of a restaurant he owned.
Enrique 'Ricky' Martin, a Puerto Rican singer with many hits to his name - remember Livin' la Vida Loca?, said in an interview that he enjoyed "giving the golden shower". rather than Livin' the Crazy Life, perhaps his hit single should have been titled Livin' la Iluvia Dorada!
Patrice O'Neal, an American stand-up comedian, claimed that he only found out he was diabetic when his golden-showered girlfriend said his urine tasted like "birthday cake". I think that claim may need more investigation.
The American sex worker-turned porn star-turned sexologist-turned-feminist Annie Sprinkle liked a sprinkle of golden shower.
Finally on the celebrity watersports front, Barry Charles (aka Troughman), an Australian gay man, would often lay down in men's urinals to be 'watered' on. I'm still maintaining non-judgement, I hope you are too!

I have engaged in watersports and I didn't like it. I've only ever given a golden shower. But having said I don't like watersports I have done it several times with or rather over partners.
A few times was in my carpeted toilet, I had to rip up the carpet eventually. And a few times in my bath, at least that was easy to clean up. Both my partners seemed to like the experience but it didn't do anything sexually for me.
Reflecting on my watersports experiences, I'm struck by the number of times it happened. While convinced that I don't want to receive a golden shower, I'm happy to give a golden shower if my partner wanted to receive and if it was done in a bath or a shower!
It's actually difficult for a man to urinate while erect, never mind aiming straight!

I have never been involved in watersports but admit to being tempted by a few variations them. I also think I would only really want to do them outside where there is no need to clean up a floor and where there is place to rinse off.

In all my years as a domme, watersports have been my least practiced fetish. I can count on one hand the amount of subs, and still be left with fingers to spare. The act alone is not necessarily something that I find arousing, but these subs (one of which was a human toilet and nothing more, quite literally) and I shared a very deep and unique connection, it wasn't about the arousal from it, but it wasn't a punishment either. There is something about the sensation that is very hot and unique. A lot of people associate it with humiliation but that's not necessarily the case for all of us. I enjoy both giving and receiving. Far more respondents had played role-play offline (in real life( IRL)) than online (in virtual life (IVL)). But whether offline or online, the majority of respondents had engaged in role-play.
The significant majority of those who had role-played liked the experience.
However, there was a significant minority, about 15 per cent for IRL role-play and about 30 per cent for IVL role play that weren't interested in erotic/sexual role-play.
The above findings were the same regardless of what gender, whether men, women or trans.
