Mulch

As I was walking from my car to the supermarket, I was ambushed by some Boy Scouts selling mulch. I promised to catch them on the way out, and I honored the promise. The only adult there was an attractive mom, and we talked for quite a while after I wrote a check for the mulch. During the 15 minutes or so that we talked, I learned that she was in the final stages of a divorce, had twin boys, who were both Boy Scouts, and worked as a waitress at an Applebees restaurant. She had a pick up truck, and we set up a time for the mulch to be delivered the next weekend.

Friday night I managed to nudge two friends in the direction of an Applebees happy hour, and while we were sitting at the bar she stopped by for a couple of quick chats. Her name was Bonnie and she was probably an inch or so under five feet. She was cute, with very short dark hair that emphasized delicate facial features and blue eyes. Both of my friends tried to horn in on our conversation, but she was practiced at gently ignoring customers and said, “See you tomorrow” as we left the restaurant once happy hour was over.

She dropped off the mulch the next afternoon, with her twins, but for some reason the order was short by two bags. Her sons had to be dropped off at their dad’s house by 5:00, and there was no time for her to go back and get two more bags before then. I was asked if it was OK if she could bring the rest of the order after the drop off, and of course I agreed. As the boys were climbing into her truck, I quietly asked her if she wanted to have a couple of beers when she came back, and she gave me a thumbs up.

It was a nice evening together. She stayed for a couple of beers, and left around ten. She had my address of course, but not my phone number, and we exchanged telephone numbers as she was leaving. I called her at work, we had two dates the next two weekends and both times we drove our own cars. They were OK, but kind of bland. A third date was set up, but she canceled, and the next one was canceled also. My assumption was that she wasn’t interested, and I had already decided not to call her again.

A few weeks passed. The same two friends who went with me to the happy hour casually mentioned that they had been back to Applebees and she asked about me. I called her the next day and this time she told me that she hadn’t been truthful about her situation. She was still very married, and apologized for misleading me.

About a year later she called me out of the blue, telling me about that year’s mulch for sale. As it happened, I did need some mulch, and ordered a few bags. She delivered it the next day, without the little helpers. After we unloaded everything, she came in for a beer. That lead to another, and before the second one was gone we were making out on my couch. Her time was limited and she let me know that. I had a couch, a bed, and even a Jacuzzi there, but we ended up fucking on the floor. We took a shower together to clean her up, and she was gone. But not for good.

During that mulch season she came to visit me on Saturday afternoons. When it was Poinsettia season she continued the visits. Ditto for food drive items. Then plant sales. The Boy Scouts never had a more active mom. She was an enthusiastic lover and a creative one. We had phone sex. We had lots of oral sex. A couple of times we had semi-public sex. Role-playing came in at some point. She wanted to know my fantasies and I was able to check off sex in an elevator and getting a blow job standing outside her car while she was sitting in the driver’s seat. I pushed my luck asking for a threesome but that was denied. We had three years and it was great.

It ended badly. Her husband became suspicious and hired a private detective. The affair was discovered, and he confronted her with the evidence. After some counseling he was willing to start over, and that meant I was history.
