Diversity in Popular Culture So, the other night, a commercial from Fidelity Investments came on. It had a senior mixed couple, black man/white woman ( I SEE ya, Michael Warren) who found out that they could retire now because of their smart investments-through Fidelity, natch! :D It ended with them on a speedboat with their mixed granddaughter. I've noticed several commercials with mixed couples like that....Ford, a couple of smartphone ones, cars, etc. Movies....the new Thor flick has Valkyrie, who is mixed brunette and brown-eyed, instead of Nordic blond and blue-eyed in the comic. Deadpool 2 will have Domino, a mutant who is black, instead of white in the comic. The new SpiderMan comic has Miles Morales, who is Black/Puerto Rican. And, Nick Fury, both in the comics and the movies is Samuel L. Jackson, ya'll!!! =D% So, am I noticing a trend here? Imagining things?
